  1. Really nice, Matt, that ‘through open windows’. I hadn’t heard whippoorwills until I went to Chesapeake Bay in May with my students. I know them from Missouri, but they aren’t in Colorado. Their call is just lovely.

  2. Enjoyed your poem very much. You create a wonderful aural image.
    I have started paying a lot more attention to birds since we got our pup last year — all those walks really give me a chance to notice. Yesterday I saw a snake bird, which must just be passing through. Very cool to watch swim 🙂
