Poetry Friday: “New Year”

New Year

Another new year’s eve,
hope and promise drawing near.
Celebration bittersweet;
I mourn
another year.

    Perhaps at the same time next year you will want to rewrite your reflection here but change the word “mourn” to the word “celebrate.” Wishing you all the best in 2016, Matt. Thank you for your poems and for the interesting and thought-provoking words you share with others here. Leslie

    I hope that 2015 was so good that you mourn it’s blessings, even as you look forward to those that 2016 will bring!

    Happy New Year!
