Poetry Friday: Spring Seeds Gallery unveiled!

poetryfridaybutton-fulllToday, Throwback Summer takes a quick break to bring you Carol Varsalona’s Spring Seeds Gallery!

Four times a year, Carol features a massive collection of poetry and images from the preceding season; her Spring gallery just went live yesterday, and I’m still amazed at how much work it must have taken her! I’m very pleased to have a poem included in it, so please stop by Carol’s blog and check out all the poems…and there’s a LOT of ’em.

(By the way, if you’re wondering what this whole “Throwback Summer” thing is about, feel free to check out some of the past few weeks’ posts, or you can read how it all came about.

For all of today’s Poetry Friday posts, head on over to A Year of Reading, where Mary Lee Hahn is overseeing hosting duties!

      1. Thanks, Matt. I did feature mine on my blog first. Carol liked it and asked me to submit it, and I did. I struggled with the digital art creation aspect, though. How did you get a picture frame around your words? It gave your creation a very sophisticated effect. 🙂

  1. Matt, when I posted last night, I did not have time to read through the Poetry Friday feeds. This morning, I was so surprised and honor to read your post. You are right that the galleries are a massive project but they are my passion project and giveback to the literacy field that I love so much. I have returned to my roots, writing for the sheer pleasure of releasing voice. In creating the galleries, I have connected with those who have the same inclinations. Everyone’s support, including yours, has allowed me the opportunity to showcase the power of poetry. I am grateful for your friendship and writing talent that has graced many galleries. In closing, I thank you again for devoting a post to my work.

  2. I noticed LInda’s contribution, because exactly: lilacs arrive to remind us of our grandmothers. Thanks for the redirect, Matt–I would have missed the crazy quilt of warmth that is the gallery!
